Adecco is currently hiring for an intermediate hardware design engineer to develop, improve, and test components and systems including circuit boards, processors, memory and FPGA.

This highly technical role requires attention to detail through the design, deployment, and troubleshooting processes. The hardware design engineers need to analyze test data to enhance performance, make repairs and changes to both analog and digital circuitry, and ensure proper functionality. The HW design engineers will take apart the parts of a semiconductor component or full assembly and extract the information needed for design improvement or replace an obsolete design. This position reports to the HW Group Manager.

  • Pay Rate: $29-$44/hr

  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM

  • Responsibilities:

  • Developing, designing and testing hardware components including circuit boards, switches, processors.
  • Capturing functional requirements, components and design systems that will deliver the expected performance
  • Responsible for schematic capture, netlist generation, BOM generation and circuit board layout.
  • Making modifications to existing hardware components and systems based on changes in functional requirements or use cases.
  • Modifying hardware elements to eliminate performance issues that cause the device to malfunction.
  • Conducting component tests throughout the design process, testing the elements individually and in conjunction with other hardware, firmware and software systems.
  • Analyzing test data to guide changes, enhance system performance and stability, and eliminate defects.
  • Preparing and maintaining documents throughout the design and development process.
  • Ensuring that the hardware reliably runs the intended firmware and software.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Electronics, Hardware or Computer Engineering or equivalent with a focus on digital design. 
  • 5 plus years HW development experience preferably in an aerospace, defense or medical product environments.
  • Background from Control systems (Engine Control, Landing and Steering Controls an asset), Avionics, Aerospace, Medical Device or other high reliability products would be appropriate.
  • Knowledge of design and simulation tools (Allegro Layout, Spice and OrCad capture)
  • Knowledge of Board / system EMI Design
  • Direct experience interfacing with microcontrollers and/or knowledge of embedded processor implementations
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • DO160 and DO254 experience is a plus.
