Adecco is currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time HSE Coordinator to work for a well-established and dynamic entertainment establishment located in Calgary, AB.  In this role, you will be responsible for the assisting in the successful execution of our client's Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and advise on Health, Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and initiatives
  • Work with Management, Supervisors, and Employees to communicate and implement policies, standards, and practices in line with Company business plans, and legislation requirements
  • Report on emerging trends, leading, and lagging indicators and relevant HSE activities within the organization
  • Consistently monitor changes to safety legislation how they affect the organization, and update policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Ensure standard program documentation is conducted including hazard / risk assessments, inspections, and job safety analysis
  • Collaborate with appropriate departmental personnel to resolve identified hazards and deficiencies
  • Assist in incident investigations
  • Assist in monitoring contractors and work activities to ensure safe work practices are being followed
  • Participate in project team meetings and provide guidance for HSE activities.
  • Review contractor HSE programs and assist in approving contractors and 3rd party vendors
  • Observe compliance trends, indicators, and potential incidents and provide recommendation in support of constant improvement or immediate corrective actions.
  • Facilitate monthly safety meetings and present safety-related information both internally and working with the communications team, on external message boards, the HPS Website, and other written / verbal communication methods as appropriate
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs to encourage, reward, and recognize employee safe behavior, involvement, and commitment toward safety
  • Assist as required with WCB case administration, injury management, and modified work programs
  • Ensure internal (employees) and external (contractors, visitors, etc.) safety training and communications are completed
  • Manage and maintain HSE databases and safety statistics internally
  • Update employee training records in client and company HSE databases
  • Facilitation of new-employee and sub-contractor health and safety orientations
  • Support development of weekly and monthly safety bulletins and presentations
  • Help to explain results of the COR audits
  • Facilitate permit applications, regulatory environmental reports, and month / year end reports for internal operations as required by governing authorities
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Formal Health and Safety legislative and program management education is preferred
  • Health and Safety Administrator (HSA) designation is considered an asset
  • Valid First Aid Certificate (Standard Level C with AED) is a must
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in site assessments and reporting
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license and current satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • Is Proficient with Microsoft Office software including MS Word, Outlook, MS Excel and PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Previous experience with cloud-based data management software is an asset
  • Superior organizational and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines are all crucial
  • Able to recognize compliance and risk issues and situations
  • Capable of managing data and information with confidentiality and sensitivity
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form effective working relationships at all levels of the organization and with clients
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
