Adecco Professional is currently partnering with an established manufacturing client who is looking to hire for an HR Manager job opening in Toronto, ON for their Canadian team – it offers free parking and it TTC accessible (bus) as it is in the north end of Toronto.
This full-time, permanent career opportunity is best suited for a driven, hands-on HR professional with at least 5 years direct experience to bring to the table. This individual is the sole HR professional for Canada but also works closely with the North American HR team; you however are the subject matter expert for all things HR in Canada so knowledge and confidence are key. The HR Manager is responsible for all the HR related functions of the site and will provide variety and challenge while allowing the individual to bring in new strategic ideas. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, with a keen focus on follow up, collaboration and who is employee centric. Please note this is a unionized work environment
Some of the responsibilities of the HR Manager job opening in Toronto, ON may include but are not limited to:
Full-cycle recruitment requirements ensuring interaction and communication with the hiring manager at all times; this includes consulting on market rates, trends and candidate experience while ensure the steps of the process flow timely and efficiently
Ensure all Provincial and Federal employment legislation and compliance is adhered to and communicated; this includes representing Canada on all initiatives to ensure regulations are followed (consulting the team(s))
Employee relations from all HR related angles and ensuring staff understand any new/updated policies and procedures clearly
Be an active Health and Safety / Site Safety member to help educate and promote a safe work environment and reduce risks
Manager the payroll for Canada; work with the benefit plan and compensation structure to ensure we are keeping competitive and any related responsibility
Assist employees with HR related questions such as benefits, employee relations, internal applications, employee service and more
Strategic planning and sharing/presenting to leadership team ideas, concerns, updated legislation etc.
Work in partnership with the North American HR team and shared services
Assist and administer performance and talent reviews, succession planning, compensation reviews and headcount/budget tracking
HR reporting and tracking
Additional duties as necessary
Some of the key requirements to be considered for the HR Manager job opening in Toronto, ON may include but are not limited to:
At least 5 years’ experience in an HR Generalist capacity with some management level experience; strong asset to those who come from a sole HR position so no stranger to wearing all the ‘HR hats’ and who enjoy it!
Completed post-secondary education; completed or pursuing your CHRP designation a strong asset
Experience from a unionized, manufacturing environment is required
Strong technical skills in MS Office and the ability to learn new systems
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships with staff at all levels
Driven, hard-working, flexible – you have a very hands-on approach to get the job done
Self driven hard worker who takes initiative and is passionate about how the Canadian markets impact the organization as a whole
