Our client in Kingston, ON is looking for a Human Resources and Payroll Administrator to join their team.  This person will provide full cycle payroll for Union and Non-union employees on a bi-weekly basis. The candidate is responsible for the maintenance and administration of employee records, compensation and benefits, remittances and WSIB protocols, while maintaining compliance with all legislative requirements.

Human Resources and Payroll Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Monitor time and attendance
  • Obtain overtime approvals
  • Calculate commissions
  • Process garnishment requests
  • Process and close bi-weekly payroll
  • Calculate and process payment of all government remittances
  • Administration of company group insurance policy
  • Answer all payroll and HR related questions from employees
  • Prepare reports for management
  • Manage all WSIB employee claims
  • Performing other duties that may be reasonably requested
  • Human Resources and Payroll Administrator Qualifications:

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner and Certified Human Resources Professional preferred or combination of work experience.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, WCB Act, Human Rights Code, and other similar legislative requirements involving employees and the company's operation.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles as it pertains to payroll
  • Possess superior communication and interpersonal skills; positive, persuasive, tactful and exercise good judgment.
  • Proficient in computer applications; Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong team player with a positive “Can Do” attitude
