Adecco is currently recruiting to a full time permanent Human Resources Generalist in Calgary, AB. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the management of central human resources functions in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Our client is a well-established national engineering firm operating multiple divisions and branches across Canada. They are offering a competitive base salary and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Recommend employee relations and protect interests of employees and the company in accordance with policies and governmental laws and regulations. Review employee appeals through complaint procedure
  • Administer and maintain wage and salary structure, pay policies, and performance planning programs
  • Coordinate and communicate all Human Resources programs and provide necessary education and materials to senior management, supervisors, and employees: workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, standardized reports
  • Assist in development and implementation of new approaches, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate and support internal and external recruitment activities. Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions
  • Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and five to seven years related experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • French language skills would be an asset
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and effective presentation skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Excellent knowledge of Human Resource principles and practices and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to promote and maintain positive relationships and confidence in you own abilities and capable of acting decisively
  • Ability to project and maintain professionalism with a diversity of people inside and outside the Company
  • Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations and maintain attention to detail and must have a passion for the business and the “will” to succeed
