Human Resources Generalist

Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Human Resources Generalist in Edmonton, AB to work at a well-established, highly reputable commercial construction company in Canada. In this role, you will be working at the head office supporting teams in Edmonton, Calgary and Ontario, executing the overall shared service delivery model of support services, program administration and human capital.   • Responsibilities:

  • Execute human resource initiatives for all operating units.
  • Administer personnel development, including wage adjustments, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee the full life-cycle recruitment and onboarding process for salaried positions.
  • Administer the employee performance and career development processes, and support management in executing these programs.
  • Implement shared service initiatives in consultation with other operational divisions.
  • Consult with Business Unit leaders and implement training initiatives, as required.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide conflict resolution and mediation strategies where appropriate.
  • Implement strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals
  • Ensure the enforcement and education of company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on crucial workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development.
  • Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in business administration, human resources management, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a human resources specialist or generalist position.
  • CPHR accreditation is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial employment standards and Labour Code and keeping current on changes and updated legislation and legal precedent.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR core processes such as employee relations, succession planning, and full-cycle recruitment initiatives.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions and evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation and facilitation skills.
