Adecco is currently recruiting for a full-time Inspector (Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineer or Technologist), to work at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands. In this role, you will support the overall management of piping integrity within the company Upgrader.   • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage NDE piping inspection tasks for an assigned area, based on a monthly planned work list
  • Develop scope of inspection for Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) of piping – scope of work packages for execution by NDE contractor
  • Generate work notifications in SAP for use by planning/contractor resources
  • Work with drafting support to identify and correct inspection sketches
  • Review inspection data once complete and identify areas of concern, escalating through leadership and working in conjunction with unit QA and Engineers on follow-up inspection and repairs
  • Assess piping condition based on inspection results to determine appropriate follow-up inspection or expanded scope, or adjustment to the next planned inspection date
  • Update the corporate database with inspection results
  • Support estimating of piping inspection work for the Business Unit
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or a diploma in Materials Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology is a must
  • Two to five years of experience in a similar role is required
  • Previous experience as an NDE technician with relevant piping experience is required
  • Familiarity with SAP is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required
  • Experience and competency in planning, organizing, problem-solving, and decision making is a must
  • Must be local to Fort McMurray
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
