  • Responsibilities:

  • Review shift log daily regarding recent instrumentation-related issues in the plant
  • Provide technical support to operations & maintenance during troubleshooting activities to recover plant production, as required
  • Lead or provide technical support during incident investigations
  • Review equipment test results and advise on the frequency & scope of maintenance activities or if repairs/replacements/equipment upgrades are needed
  • Participate in risk analysis work activities, and develop engineering solutions for various plant issues
  • Develop, present and/or make modifications to the scope of work for turnaround events as well as provide support to the turnaround team during the execution
  • Make recommendations for the procurement of materials, equipment and services for assigned work
  • Complete instrumentation engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements and ensure compliance with the company's SPI(s), specifications and standards
  • Prepare high-quality design packages with well-understood scopes of work
  • Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications
  • Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications
  • Analyze instrumentation equipment data & historical failure information to produce equipment end-of-life strategies and obsolescence plans, or produce equipment failure reports
  • Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent and or Instrumentation Engineering Technologist diploma from a Canadian Technology Institution
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience is required
  • Should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial for success in this role
