Responsibilities:
Review shift log daily regarding recent instrumentation-related issues in the plant
Provide technical support to operations & maintenance during troubleshooting activities to recover plant production, as required
Lead or provide technical support during incident investigations
Review equipment test results and advise on the frequency & scope of maintenance activities or if repairs/replacements/equipment upgrades are needed
Participate in risk analysis work activities, and develop engineering solutions for various plant issues
Develop, present and/or make modifications to the scope of work for turnaround events as well as provide support to the turnaround team during the execution
Make recommendations for the procurement of materials, equipment and services for assigned work
Complete instrumentation engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements and ensure compliance with the company's SPI(s), specifications and standards
Prepare high-quality design packages with well-understood scopes of work
Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications
Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications
Analyze instrumentation equipment data & historical failure information to produce equipment end-of-life strategies and obsolescence plans, or produce equipment failure reports
Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent and or Instrumentation Engineering Technologist diploma from a Canadian Technology Institution
Minimum 10 years of engineering experience is required
Should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial for success in this role
