Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to work a long-term contract at a one of Canada's largest petroleum refiners. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on engineering work conducted by both internal and external parties to ensure compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. This involves evaluating the quality and accuracy of the work performed in the field of instrumentation and controls engineering. If you have a minimum of five years of related experience within the oil & gas Industry, then this job is for you!

Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines aligned with project goals
Ensure accurate and timely communication between Project Team and Company functions on engineering activities
Analyze maintenance records to determine failure rates, bad actor identification, and cost analysis
Develop and execute process control surveillance programs
Collect and trend process data using company's process historian database and visualization tools
Conduct process control philosophy and stability reviews and execute control logic updates and loop tuning
Conduct criticality assessments and develop equipment strategies/maintenance plans for instrumentation and control systems
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience is required
Minimum five years of experience within the oil & gas industry is a must
Experience in hardware selection and application, including pressure/temperature/level instruments, control valves, and fire/gas detection is also a must
Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria
Proficient in data collection and analysis with common database and software tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Able to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities
Fluent in technical and business communication in English
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
