Civil/Municipal Engineer - Edmonton

Adecco’s client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil/Municipal Engineer to join their team. As a Civil/Municipal Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and managing various civil engineering projects, including municipal infrastructure such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and waste management facilities as well as land development. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.

Civil/Municipal Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and prepare technical reports
  • Develop and design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects
  • Prepare permit applications and obtain approvals from regulatory agencies
  • Review and approve construction plans and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications
  • Conduct engineering analyses, calculations, and simulations using computer software and other tools
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Manage project budgets and schedules and ensure timely completion of projects
  • Conduct field inspections and testing to ensure project quality and compliance with industry standards and codes
  • Civil/Municipal Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in civil/municipal engineering or related field
  • Strong technical expertise in civil engineering design and project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering software
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and permitting processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
