Adecco is currently hiring for an Intermediate Engineer for our Medical Manufacturer in Ottawa West. This is a Full-Time contract for approximately 1 year with potential for extension. We are offering Full Time hours, Monday to Friday during the day. Compensation to be determined based on experience.

The Intermediate Engineer will be responsible for creating qualification protocols, generating data and completing qualification reports. Working with suppliers and R&D teams to improve quality and reduce variation across the plastics and packaging portfolios, through the use of a statistical/fact-based analytics. Drive sustainable corrective actions and preventative actions to meet critical quality attributes (CQA), and identify/explore new CQAs and controls to further improve product quality

Intermediate Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced scientific knowledge, engineering knowledge, mathematics and ingenuity to complete assignments within the quality system with minimal supervision
  • Generate and develop Design Change Packages and Validation Packages for injection molding tooling
  • Conceptualize solutions, create or coordinate implementation of solutions for novel or complex problems; explore multiple alternatives
  • Interface with external firms, suppliers, and other departments
  • Responsible for completing quality documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with business standards
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to support organizational goals
  • Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining effectiveness of quality system
  • Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as may be required
  • Intermediate Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • 2 or more years in professional engineering/science and/or master’s degree (Science, Engineering or equivalent)
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills
  • Experience using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
  • Structured problem solving, Statistical testing, Design of Experiments, fact-based problem solving
  • Some experience or exposure to a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently and in groups, ability to work cross-functionally with supervision
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills; critical thinking skills
  • Ability or aptitude to use various types of databases and other computer software
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge, understanding or skills and willingness to learn
