Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer - Edmonton

Adecco’s client is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join their team of engineering professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of geotechnical engineering tasks, including site investigations, geotechnical analyses, design, and construction supervision. The role requires a high level of technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to clients and team members.

Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site investigations and fieldwork, including soil and rock sampling, monitoring of groundwater levels, and other related tasks.
  • Conduct geotechnical analyses, including soil mechanics, slope stability, and foundation design.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, including interpretation of field and laboratory data and recommendations for construction.
  • Provide technical support to construction teams during construction and assist in resolving geotechnical issues that arise.
  • Communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders, providing technical guidance and project updates.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in geotechnical analysis and design.
  • Experience with geotechnical software, such as GeoStudio, Plaxis, or similar.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize workload.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration with a provincial/territorial association of professional engineers.
