Intermediate Support Analyst

Adecco is currently hiring for an Intermediate Support Analyst that values learning, and growth. As the L2 Support, you are the escalation point as well as primary on client projects. If you have superb troubleshooting skills and want to be hands on with the newest technology, then this position is for you!

 

Pay Rate: $60,000-$70,000

Location: Whitby, ON

Shifts: Monday-Friday – Every 4-6 weeks rotating on call with additional pay

Job Type: Full Time Permanent – Direct Hire

 

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent recurring issues.

• Assist in software releases and rollouts

• Leaving detailed notes on requirements and solutions.

• Be hands on with numerous applications

• Be the escalation point for the L1 team and help out when things get busy

• Build rapport with clients

• Escalate incidents with accurate documentation to suitable technician or vendor, when required.

• Record, track, and document the service desk incident-solving procedure, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to final resolution.

• Troubleshoot network and firewall policies.

• Implement operating system hardening for Windows and Linux servers

• Use remote tools and diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.

• Research solutions through internal and external knowledgebase as needed.

• Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes.

• Install antivirus software and ensure virus definitions are up to date.

• Perform post-resolution follow-ups with Level I Technicians.

• Develop help sheets and FAQ lists for end users.

• Suggest and conduct operating system patches and upgrades.

• Powershell/Python scripting and automation (5-10% of the time)

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in Electronics, Hardware or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of Computer and server Hardware
  • Experience in networking and routing protocols
  • Experience in Virtualization (VMWare/Hyper V)
  • Must have experience in multiple versions of Windows Servers and/or Linux
  • Some experience required in Powershell/Python scripting
  • Familiarity of ITIL principles and processes – Certification required within 6 months of employment
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • 3-7 years of previous experience working in a similar role
  • Strong Customer Service
  • Great communication skills
  • Able to learn quickly
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Access to a vehicle
  • MSCE, MCE or MCP Certifications would be an asset
  • Fortinet Certifications would be an asset
