Junior Accountant

Adecco is currently seeking a full-time Junior Accountant for a leading manufacturer specializing in retail merchandising solutions in Port Coquitlam, BC. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Junior Accountant will perform various clerical and routine accounting tasks to support the Finance Department. • Pay rate: $65,000 – 70,000/year

• Location: Port Coquitlam, BC

• Shifts: Monday to Friday |8 am - 4:30 pm PST (40 hours)

• Job type: Full-time | Permanent

• Start Date: Asap

Duties and Responsibilities:

• General Accounting:

  • Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts

  • Assist with initial control evaluations

  • Handle daily Banking & Reconciling daily cash reports

  • Post Monthly, Quarterly & Annual accruals

  • Assist with month end closing procedures 

• Accounts Receivable

  • Maintain customer credit limits

  • Process daily Accounts Receivable receipts and make daily deposits to banks

  • Work with customers to resolve any payment issue

  • Update Credit Insurance information

  • Handle daily Invoicing

  • Manage payment Application, including electronic payments, cheques and credit cards

  • Provide backup for Accounts Payable

• Accounts Payable

  • Handle weekly cheque runs

  • Perform GL Coding and data entry of invoices

  • Handle vendor statement reconciliations 

• Perform other assigned duties as required

Requirements and Qualifications: 

• Minimum 2+ years of British Columbia accounting experience with a full set of books

• CPA designation obtained or currently enrolled

• Recent experience working in a manufacturing accounting environment is required

• Excellent computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills are a must

• Good analytical and organizational skills

• Knowledge of computerized accounting and costing systems

• Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
