Adecco is currently hiring a permanent Junior Machinist to work full-time hours for our client, located in Mississauga ON.  In this role, you would complete daily production, tool, and fixture jobs, including machining stators, rotors and armatures. He/she creates tools and fixtures (for winding, dis/assembly) as required for new units. Typically, the incumbent completes an average of 5-20 units per day.

He/she works with Engineering and other departments to offer hands-on assistance and design solutions to production issues, under the direction of the Production Manager. For example, this includes acting as the trouble-shooter for technical production issues for Assembly, Coil, etc.

  • Shifts: 6:30am-3:30pm

  • Responsibilities:

  • Complete scheduled work in a timely and accurate manner, including directing and developing direct report/s’ capabilities
  • Consult with other departments to support delivery of continuous improvement efficiencies
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and well-organized work area
  • Responsible for working in a safe and healthy manner, including reporting any potential/hazards, and treating coworkers professionally and with respect
  • Other work as assigned from time to time by the Production Manager
  • Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Strong interpersonal skills; trustworthy; reliable with time and attendance
  • Ability to use a curling machine, operate a manual laser and manual milling machine
  • 1 -2 years of experience in manual milling and laser machine
  • Ensures Machine Shop maintains reasonable pace of production and work accuracy, while documenting activities to Company and Transport Canada standards
  • Works with engineering, management, and production personnel to optimize production efficiency and contribute to Company profitability
  • Competent oral and written English; able to read and follow detailed instruction manuals
  • Basic desktop computer and mathematical skills
  • Minimum high school or equivalent technical experience
  • Good manual strength and dexterity, including ability to use hand tools such as pliers, cutters, hammers, calipers, rulers, calculators, micrometers, grinder, milling machine, drill press, lathe, etc.
  • Broad understanding of the technical skills and procedures followed in various production areas, and related business considerations
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize workload, including supporting/creating new tools, fixtures, or other solutions to improve production efficiency and solve product issues
