Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Laboratory Sampling Technician, to work a long-term contract at a well-established integrated oil and natural gas company, in Grande Prairie, AB. In this role, you will perform sampling tasks throughout the plant site, field and off sites of varying matrixes to support critical and core analysis in support of the company’s operation, ensuring these samples are representative of the source.
Location: Grande Prairie, AB |Transportation provided from various departure points including Air service from Edmonton and Calgary
Shifts: 8 days on 6 days off | 80 hours per rotation | variable schedule | Fly in, Fly out

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support lab operation, safety and environmental systems
Support stake holders on projects, R&D and operations optimization
Troubleshoot plant process/sampling issues
Demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable prescribed software and programs
Look for and lead efforts to improve processes and procedures as it relates to position
Carry out routine and non-routine lab sampling
Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical analysis as requested/required in support of stakeholders and co-workers
Perform data entry as needed
Sample login into SampleManager
Communicate with Operations on plant issues impacting sampling and safety
Ensure proper safety protocols are in place and in practice when performing duties
Identify issues that impact safety, environment and/or production
Report any safety issues that come up and help contribute to ideas for avoiding accidents and improving the overall safety at the Christina Lake facility
Shipping champion for Lab group, ensuring TDG requirements are met, proper labeling/cost coding is documented on COCs, etc.
Clean sampling containers (cylinders) to prevent contamination
Train new Field Lab Technician’s on sampling protocols and procedures
Ensure proper communication and documentation occurs with cross shift
Requirements and Qualifications:
High school education or equivalent is needed
Should have lab sampling experience, with exposure to field and site sampling
Valid Class 5 Driver’s license is required
Should be mechanically inclined
A fast learner who responds well to new situations that require stretch and growth
Should have excellent Interpersonal skills, is trustworthy and is skilled at relating to many different types of people
Must have outstanding communications skills and uses effective listening skills
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
