Adecco is currently hiring a temporary full-time Laboratory Technician to work in Edmonton, AB for our client, an integrated energy producer. In this role you will be responsible for supporting/assisting the lab supervisors/chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry on product and in-process samples, to support plant operations for the purpose of quality assurance/control. If you have a degree in Chemical, Process, or Technical Engineering, experience working in a laboratory setting, and knowledge of laboratory safety we are looking for you and encourage you to apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lab supervisors and chemists in conducting both routine and specialized lab analyses.

  • Calibrate and maintain test equipment; ensure accurate data recording.

  • Use analytical instruments for quality assurance and control.

  • Prioritize safety in the lab and communicate safety protocols to personnel.

  • Manage shipping and tracking of samples for external lab tests.

  • Prepare chemical solutions, reagents, and set preparation standards.

  • Operate with moderate direction and knowledge of the position.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Lab Technician within the oil & gas industry.

  • Degree from a polytechnic institution in Chemical, Process, or Technical Engineering.

  • Proficient in computer usage.

  • Experience with quality control systems.

  • Possess CSTS 2020 (Construction Safety Training System).

  • Trained in Standard First Aid/CPR “A”, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Air Purifying Respirator, and H2S Awareness

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
