Adecco is currently recruiting a Labour Relations Section, Manager for full-time permanent role. Our client is the public sector. The role will commence remotely as per current situation.

The Labour Relations Section, Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the representation of staff relations and classification grievances,
  • Responsible for the representation for unfair labour practice and bad faith bargaining complaints before various tribunals, boards of arbitration and arbitrators.
  • Work and collaborate with the member of the management team of the organization
  • Responsible for preparing and managing the budget of the Section
  • Responsible for implementing staffing and staff relations in the Section
  • Responsible for working with the Director in developing a human resource plan for the training and development of staff in the Section
  • Responsible for participating in organizational strategic planning and implementing organizational priorities in the Section
  • Will be providing advice and assistance to Directors and Management Teams on policy development and special projects.
  • The Labour Relations Section, Manager must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Must be fluent in French and English (write, speak & read)
  • Law Degree and/ or advisor on labor relations and on employment matters
  • Extensive experience in the field of industrial or labour relations and employment matters; (example: employment equity and classification and/or any other issues relating to employment matters).
  • Experience investigating and preparing labor relations report results.
  • Experience in conflict resolutions through mediation, negotiation and arbitration.
  • Experience in working on different types of portfolios on staff relations, labor relations and employment matters.
  • Experience in appearing to different courts such as: labour relations boards and/or labour arbitrators, human rights tribunals and other courts depending on the subject matters.
  • Experience managing human and financial resources
  • Knowledge of Labour Relations Codes and Acts.
  • Knowledge of research and analysis techniques to develop various reports.
  • Knowledge of best practices to resolve labor relations and employment matters.
  • Knowledge of legislative jurisdictions and how to prepare court cases for arbitration in front of tribunals.
  • Knowledge of policy development and project management.
