Adecco is currently hiring for a Law Clerk in Mississauga, ON. To qualify for the Law Clerk role, you must have the ability to multitask in a challenging environment, quickly learn new software, effectively communicate over the phone, and have previous experience in a legal environment.
For the role of a Law Clerk, we are looking for individuals who are detail oriented, have previous experience drafting legal documents, and relevant post-secondary education. Our client is a large, reliable and reputable organization within the financial services industry. This is a 3-month contract position and has a pay rate of $25 per hour.
Law Clerk Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality service and professionalism at every interaction
  • Independently prepare litigation documents, notices of sale and correspondence as well as assessing the files and appropriately managing the litigation as necessary
  • Conduct legal searches, collect and track data, as well as organize and catalogue legal documents
  • Correspond directly with customers, outside law firms, other Bank staff and agents
  • Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure quality and efficiency, meet deadlines and be flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities
  • Navigate software programs and other departmental tools or equipment with ease, efficiency to provide appropriate documents/information that legal counsel and team members require
  • Develop forms/tools and templates
  • Sundry administrative duties as required

Law Clerk Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Internet Explorer
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with confidential matters with the appropriate discretion
  • Able to work cooperatively with other staff members and have the flexibility to take on any tasks assigned to meet Department needs
  • Possess excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to demonstrate good judgment in collection matters
  • Law Clerk designation from an accredited program
  • Previous legal experience with familiarity in the areas of litigation, mortgage enforcement and title searching would be an asset.
