Adecco is currently assisting our medical manufacturing client to fill the position of Logistics Manager on a 1-year contract.  Working as part of the Supply Chain Management team you must have a minimum of 10 experience, preferably in supply chain, distribution or logistics along with some project management experience. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a focus in supply chain would be an asset.

Working as the Logistics Manager the ideal candidate will be responsible for managing projects and initiatives related to global logistics systems and processes to optimize efficiency and align distribution strategies in order to support global business operations. Leverage expertise in import, export, customs, traffic and distribution to achieve cost effective solutions and best-in-class service levels.

Logistics Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently contributes to large, complex projects with broad organizational impact. Leads projects of moderate complexity and scope. Balances the needs of multiple users to define business requirements, develops and assesses alternatives or new processes, and recommends most effective solution. This usually includes coordinating activities across functional groups.
  • Responsible for managing relationships with International affiliates and distribution partners.
  • Applies seasoned import, export, traffic and distribution knowledge to achieve effective solutions, in the areas of customs management, distribution, ERP configuration, and functionality.
  • Manage complex projects related to logistics systems and processes to optimize efficiency.
  • Develops and manages a number of KPIs with affiliates to ensure performance levels are achieved.
  • Analyzes freight requirements and institutes on on-going measurement program of selected carrier performance, ensuring follow-up as required to resolve issues.
  • Provides expert consultation to others with respect to global freight management. Responsible for aligning distribution strategies with the company direction.
  • Responsible to communicate with other groups, to ensure problems and solutions are communicated and resolved effectively. Facilitates the resolution of difficult or sensitive client complaints or difficulties
  • Logistics Manger Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of related experience in business, logistics, supply chain or equivalent.
  • Customs experience working with various regulatory and government agencies.
  • Experience leading initiatives and/or large project that provide large financial benefits to the organization.
  • Knowledge of brand and market dynamics, financial process, familiarity, with GCP/SOP, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, with customer driven focus and sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive for results and set vision/strategy.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate unique ways to improve the organization (cost reductions, use of resources, policies/procedures, products); generating useful new ideas, approaches or techniques.
  • Knowledge of SAP and other ERP business systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing operations impacted by Quality systems.
  • Understanding the order to cash model.
  • Knowledge of international customs laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of various international business models and flow of orders and inventory.
  • Understand various carriers and freight forwarders service offering.
