Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Machinery Engineer in Fort McMurray, AB, to work a long-term contract at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands, in Fort McMurray, AB.   • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support business units in identifying, managing, and eliminating emerging threats to
    operations
  • Proactively perform equipment health monitoring tasks using process and condition
    monitoring data (vibration, oil analysis)
  • Develop long-term reliability improvements to eliminate bad actors and improve business
    reliability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support routine maintenance activities and adjust
    scope of work as conditions change
  • Support technology development and improvements with research and development, vendors, joint venture participants and industry organizations
  • Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
  • Minimum 4 years of field experience in an operating facility, troubleshooting rotating
    equipment problems, are a must
  • Experience in providing short and long-term solutions to increase the reliability and
    availability of the equipment is needed
  • Experience in conducting failure investigations using a variety of tools and
    techniques is required
  • Experience with the following equipment is required at a minimum: centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, gearboxes, motors, and turbines
  • Experience with TA scope of work development and direct support during TA execution is a
    plus
  • Should have membership or eligibility for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA) as a Professional Engineer
