Our growing Hamilton client, ARCELOR MITTAL HAMILTON EAST has asked us to recruit for a Maintenance Coordinator to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical or Electrical diploma with a minimum of 5 years related experience and will be responsible for the following:
Reporting to the Sr. Coordinator, Maintenance, the ideal candidate will supervise and work closely with the maintenance team to ensure the safety and robust maintenance plan is adhered to at all times. This non-unionized position requires a versatile leader with excellent communication skills who is experienced in a related role and work environment.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Promote and ensure Health, Safety & Environment practices are strictly followed. Execute plant maintenance administrative support function. Effectively lead a team of direct reports by means of training, coaching and evaluation. Work closely with union representatives to ensure compliance to the Collective Agreement. Prioritize and lead the investigation process regarding product and equipment failure in order to identify the root cause and implement corrective actions. Work closely to collaborate with other departments on issues related to management and operations. Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects.
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Background in Metallurgy would be considered an asset.
5 years of maintenance supervisory/management experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Solid understanding of Microsoft Office; experience as an end-user of SAP will be considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effectively and execute with a sense of urgency.
Willingness to work extended shifts during evenings and weekends (this position qualifies for paid overtime) Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships in a work environment.
Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
Experience working under the terms of collective agreements would be considered an asset.

Please note that this position is a permanent position and the salary range is 82K-88K.
