Maintenance Electrician 

Adecco is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician for a Permanent contract with our Client in Barrie, ON.

Installs, tests, troubleshoots, modifies, maintains and repairs industrial electrical equipment/machinery, and keeps accurate, timely records.

The Maintenance Electrician will have the following responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:
 

  • Support the maintenance and operational needs of the company by maintaining, repairing, testing, and troubleshooting equipment such as electrical motors, generators, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems, etc.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records using the CMMS system.
  • Experience in wiring layouts for new or existing installations. (i.e.  install, replace and repair lighting fixtures, electrical control equipment and distribution equipment. This includes switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
  • Familiar with electrical power distribution system equipment.
  • Must be able to calibrate automatic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronic equipment used for measurement, indication, monitoring, recording or controlling process parameters or for determining product quality.
  • Performs troubleshooting, repair and maintenance to distributed control networks including the process DCS, SCADA and PLC based control systems.
  • Perform PID loop tuning functions to restore or maintain process stability.
  • Use schematic or logic diagrams and diagnostic instruments to locate electronic control system or electrical system malfunctions.
  • Any combination of experience must include five years as an instrument technician in an industrial environment with maintenance responsibility for process controllers or distributed control networks.
  • Assist in the planning of electrical and instrumentation jobs, including budgeting, design, scheduling, and procurement.
  • Effectively evaluate the risks associated with any given task and utilize the safest possible work procedures.
  • Familiarity with Delta V DCS systems would be an attractive asset.
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming, troubleshooting and modifications

  • Continuous Improvement & Development:

  • Suggest improvements to processes, policies
  • Contributes to the development of preventive maintenance plans
  • Possible training of new Electricians
  •  

    Regulatory:

  • Excellent knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code
  • Ensures strict compliance to safety rules and procedures while on the premises.
  • Complies with all legal requirements of the local governing laws.
  • Keeps accurate and timely records for possible Ministry of Labour inquiries.
  •  

    Training and Education:

  • Recommend participation and/or enrolment in educational activities, workshops, and seminars, which contribute, to a program of self-improvement.
  •  

     

     The Maintenance Electrician must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Any combination of experience and trade certification for a total of 3-5 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of mixing, formulating or mining processes is beneficial.
  • One to two years’ experience in an instrument technician role is desirable.
  • Skill competencies include computer, problem-solving, analysis, communications, strong interpersonal skills.
  • 309A or 442A license required
