Our client in North York, is looking for Maintenance Engineering Technician with Electrical (442a) and Red Seal Millwright Licenses to become a part of their team.
This will be an afternoon shift running from Tuesday to Saturday and Pay Range is $65,000-$75,000 per year.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of the Distribution Centre. This position will perform a variety of tasks which include setting up, troubleshooting, equipment repairs and maintenance, maintaining a preventative maintenance program to mitigate repair costs and unscheduled interruptions to the business, while addressing all internal customers needs in a flexible, cost effective and timely manner. Equipment is to be maintained with safety in mind of all workers, compliance to all local regulations/standards and all policies.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. General Up Keep (30%)

  • Repair Walls, ceilings, doors and door hardware, painting, plumbing fixtures, office furniture/equipment
  • Repair or coordinate repair of all dock doors, truck restraints and levelers
  • Complete a visual inspection of buildings interior/exterior to ensure its maintenance, replace or coordinate replacement of damaged racking, change light bulbs, ballasts and motion devises as required
  • Maintain floor marking throughout DC Coordinate office/staff movement within the site.
  • Clean snow or debris from entrances and walkways.
2. Preventive Maintenance (30%)
  • Conduct monthly maintenance inspections on building infrastructure, electrical and mechanical equipment, security and fire safety systems.
  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance to above items.
  • Log, report and or address deficiencies
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to all conveyors and process equipment
  • Complete a monthly visual inspection of all racking to ensure staff racking inspections have covered any issues. Manage PMHE battery maintenance by ensuring all batteries are watered properly and on schedule.
  • Preventive maintenance works towards the goal of GMP and Health and safety.

3. Equipment Repair and Maintenance (30%)
  • Troubleshooting, Analyzes, and repair of all distribution related equipment to ensure continuous operation of the picking, packing and shipping process.
  • Provide flexible real time maintenance service to meet distribution demands and shipping schedules.
  • Provide timely repairs to all equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Liaise with outside contractors PickMax, PickToLight System, OPEX Perfect Pick system, Zebra Print and apply systems
  • Monarch & Zebra Printer Conveyors & Sorters Carton Erectors & Tapers Motors, Drives, Belts, Chains Dunnage Conveyor, Equipment compressed air distribution
  • Inspect PMHE prior to service call Order material and shop supplies
4. Requests and Other Activities (10%)
  • Conduct various equipment use and safety training Conduct various inspections such as fall protect equipment
  • Develop innovative solutions for cost, quality, or efficiency improvements
  • Assist other departments with the implementation of projects such as 5S, STOMP (BBS)
  • Customer requests, i.e. installing work boards, computers/trays, relocate work stations and all other general requests. M
  • Moving office furniture (desks, filing cabinets)
6. Health and Safety (100% At all times)
  • Proactively identify and resolve safety concerns
  • Observe and conform to all corporate EAS guidelines and procedures
  • Adhere to established Lockout/Tag out Programs
  • Actively participate and evaluate PSRs
  • Participate in the establishment of annual EAS objectives
  • Actively participate in Near Miss and BBS Observation activities

7. Housekeeping (100% At all times)
  • Maintain a clean work environment on the production floor and within the maintenance shop.
  • Conform to all ergonomic assessment requirements
  • Actively participate and support the Canadian Operations 5S Program

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: College degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade school designation/certificate and a forklift license.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years related work experience.

Competencies:
  • Technical: Knowledge of how to use machine/shop tools and hand tools safely and correctly
  • Must be able to work under all conditions, eg. hot, cold, wet, dry, snow, height
  • Ability to apply knowledge of picking & shipping equipment to maintain efficient performance
  • Communication/Interpersonal: English language proficiency; excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to resolve issues in a tactful and diplomatic manner, communicate expectations and outline maintenance requirements
  • Other: Strive for excellence in execution, build collaborative relationships and demonstrate learning agility
  • Must be able to work overtime as required, including weekends
