Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Maintenance Planner, to work at a well-established food company in Richmond, BC. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of all plant maintenance activities including the coordination of preventive, planned, and un-planned maintenance. If you have a minimum of three years of in maintenance role in a food manufacturing environment, and a High School Diploma, then this job is for you!

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance, based on job criticality ad also based on day-to-day operational requirements
  • Ensure critical parts inventory is adequate to support production
  • Ensure work orders are accomplished and correctly prioritized
  • Communicate daily with maintenance, production, accounting and vendors to resolve any issues
  • Communicate daily and weekly notes on planned and unplanned work with cross functional team
  • Perform supervisor functions (Weekend Rotation, Cover absences, First Hours and ensuring standard work process adherence)
  • Make equipment numbers, tasks, and task numbers
  • Add parts to tasks
  • Verify accurate tagging in LEDS, PM02 notification, and BDAR
  • Assist Predictive Maintenance supervisor with BDAR review
  • Order parts and materials as needed for work order packages and non-stocked items
  • Creates reports as needed and attend weekly departmental RR
  • Identify and develop projects for continuous improvement within the department and the plant, including reliability improvements
  • Identify and implement cost reduction projects in the facility.
  • Review work order backlog and rework to determine root cause and provide improvement recommendations
  • Reduce inventory through standardization – (excess inventory)
  • Develop standard work order templates for jobs that are repetitive and require only time planning
  • Work with other planners on updating PM’s (hour based, functionality, recommended changes, etc…)
  • Support other departments and project work as needed
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma is required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • SAP or CMMS experience is a must
  • Formal planner training or experience is needed
  • Must have three to five years of experience in maintenance role in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Background in Allen-Brady PLC’s is needed
  • Machine repair background is a must
  • Computer skills, MS-Word, MS-Excel, and CAD are all appreciated
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to understand people and have good inter-personal skills when working with skilled and/or unskilled people
  • Ability to understand how to work with the customer and who the customer is
  • Ability to know what the priorities are and how to set those priorities when working with the customer
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management skills and flexibility
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
