Our client in Scaborough, ON is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. The primary role and responsibly of this position is to provide front-line leadership and assistance to two (2) maintenance personal, in the maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and its infrastructure. You will also be responsible to maintain an effective PM Program so as to track failures and implement planning to minimize unscheduled downtime.

Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:

Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work.
Assigns duties to subordinates
Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
Inspect building, sites and equipment for needed repair and maintenance work.
Contacts / Coordinates with external technical services
Request for quotations, make contracts, supervise work and approve invoices for all services required to maintain the properties.
Provides support to subordinates, mechanics and contractors in areas of fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting, pipefitting, and machining.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Use computerized tracking software (CMMS) to ensure accurate collection of all maintenance work. 
Physically assist employees in the repair of equipment and infrastructure, as required
Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level
Purchases all maintenance supplies
Coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation
Performs trend analysis for predictive failure prevention
Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs
Enforces all policies and rules with subordinates

Maintenance Supervisor requirements
Minimum 5 year experience in a related field in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role
Mechanical or Industrial Maintenance Licence or Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright
Experience with welding and fabrication
Knowledge in CMMS software
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Highly motivated and able to work independently.
Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills
Strong communication and problem solving skills 
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Excellent meeting/training facilitation, communication and English written skills
Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
