Maintenance Technician (Millwright) - Heavy Metals Manufacturing in Uxbridge, Ontario

Adecco’s client is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with a Millwright background, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our heavy metals manufacturing equipment (stamping machinery). Your expertise will be essential in minimizing downtime, maximizing productivity, and ensuring the safety of our operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical systems, welding, and fabrication within a heavy industrial setting.

Maintenance Technician (Millwright) Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy metals manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, stamping machinery, and hydraulic systems.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions promptly.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.

  • Fabricate and weld components as needed to repair or modify machinery.

  • Comply with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition, to maintain accurate records.

Maintenance Technician (Millwright) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in industrial maintenance, millwright, or a related field preferred.

  • 4+ years’ experience in a shop setting

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or Millwright in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, preferably working with heavy metals.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.

  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed.
