Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, full-time Maintenance Technician / Supervisor, to work at a well-established food company in Richmond, BC. In this role, you will be chiefly responsible for the direction and supervision of a team of tradespeople, technicians, maintenance purchasers and stores clerk as well as monitoring and guiding various contractors and the associated projects. In addition, you will be responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of facilities, plant equipment and systems to ensure optimum production quality in the plant. Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of Millwrights / Electricians/Technicians Maintenance Purchasers and Stores Clerk to carry out day-to-day maintenance activities and provide direction to undertake preventive and predictive maintenance
Lead by example with a positive attitude, supervise, mentor, train and establish a standard of expected work quality
Establish a safe, transparent, and positive team environment
Work with the maintenance planner, to ensure daily maintenance work is running on schedule.
In liaison with production planning, plan and establish work schedule for the following week
Perform timekeeping and payroll submissions for Millwrights and Electricians
Monitor attendance and adherence to working hours and approve overtime for payroll.
Effective management and scheduling of the Maintenance Department.
Maintain operations within the established annual budget and identify areas of improvement and cost savings
Maintain documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements
Troubleshoot and research problems within the plant and present solutions to Maintenance Manager
Perform root cause analysis for machine breakdowns and provide improvement opportunities
Actively participate in unplanned or urgent work and communicate up-to-date information to all stakeholders regarding downtimes
Report on maintenance performance, downtime work order executions, and project statuses
Participate in general studies pertaining to plant expansions, new product lines, and diversification
Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other departments to troubleshoot maintenance issues within the plant and provide feedback
Maintain the spare parts inventory
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a degree in Engineering with maintenance experience is a must
3 years of Supervisory experience in a food processing/manufacturing environment is required
Demonstrated success supervising people in manufacturing and/or food processing operations
Lean Manufacturing experience is an asset.
Previous SAP experience is required
Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are needed
Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide quality customer service
Must have strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Manage and prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines, while always be commitment to safety in the workplace
Available to work AM, PM, and weekends as needed
Must have own vehicle, as site is not transit accessible
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
