Reporting to the Vice President, this position is responsible for the undertakings of the organization (a gallery) from a visitor’s perspective, including initial point of sale to educational programs offered at or in conjunction with the gallery.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Advocates for outside customers in decision making processes including exhibit development, programming and communications strategy (both internally and externally.)
  • Instills a customer service focused culture in all aspects of the gallery’s experience.
  • Responds to and works to resolve customer complaints efficiently.
  • Reflects the gallery’s priorities and goals in programming and partnership initiatives undertaken by department.
  • Prepares and adheres to budgets for visitor experience initiatives.
  • Oversees and directs the Coordinators in the creation, delivery and evaluation of school education programs, adult education programs, youth and family and other secured partnerships with the gallery.
  • Oversees and directs Admissions Coordinators in the effective delivery and tracking of admissions, ticketing, events and services at the gallery.
  • Oversees and directs Visitor Experience Representatives in all aspects of sales, service and visitor interaction
  • Researches, prepares and coordinates Interpretive Strategy initiatives working in concert with Vice President and Coordinators to determine best solutions.
  • Ensures all admissions and point of sale activities are fully and accurately recorded through admissions system.
  • Works closely with the finance department to ensure proper and accurate financial information is recorded.
  • Provides support to Vice President as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Education, Management, or related field.
  • Excellent skills in diplomacy and written and oral communications
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience overseeing, mentoring and managing a team.
  • Previous gallery experience would be considered an asset.
