Adecco is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Raw Materials Batteries to join our team in St. Thomas, ON. In this full-time role, you will lead a team of experts, oversee supplier relations, manage budgets, and contribute to the growth of our cutting-edge battery materials operation.

Detailed Job Description: As the Manager of Raw Materials Batteries, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of raw material experts, business partner managers, and supplier managers.

  • Managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting for the local office.

  • Identifying and onboarding new suppliers and mining projects.

  • Negotiating contracts with major and junior mining companies in Canada.

  • Establishing a robust network within the raw material sector.

  • Conducting market studies, feasibility studies, and business cases to develop and assess complex cooperation models.

  • Supporting local suppliers and greenfield projects during the ramp-up phase.

  • Ensuring supplier industrialization processes are streamlined.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align activities and objectives.

Candidate's Profile: To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

  • International mindset with an interest in global work and diverse teams.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field focused on raw materials for high voltage batteries; a Master’s degree is advantageous.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in sourcing and purchasing, especially within raw materials for high voltage batteries.

  • 2+ years of people and team management experience.

  • Expert knowledge of raw materials for high voltage batteries and upstream battery production processes.

  • Experience in contract negotiation, business development, and strategic procurement.

  • Proven ability to manage competitive tenders and drive successful outcomes.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and a track record of driving performance.

  • Proficiency in budget and forecast management.

  • Excellent presentation, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite or related software.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% locally, nationally, and internationally, with flexibility for time zone differences and occasional overtime.
