Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, Manufacturing Manager to work directly for our client located in Peterborough, ON.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing industrial control of one or more products, one or more programs over part of the life cycle: industrialization with the process "Industrialize." You will guarantee that the implementation, the maintenance, and the improvement of the manufacturing process to ensure, in compliance with safety, the production at target cost, capability and capacity.  You will coordinate industrial aspects in relation to all its internal interfaces (Programs, Navigability, RESEARCH, Technology, Purchasing, Quality, Operational Safety and Customer Support) and external (customers, partners, suppliers, organizations).

  • Required Availability: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:00am-1:00pm

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Presale and Development: Handles RFP requirements regarding recurring and non-recurring quotes, consolidation of estimates to departments, creates proposals for the industrial scheme defined by PRMA, contributes to return of experience, and product development logic.
     
  • During the development: Ensures milestones are met, implements industrial scheme, and chooses suppliers, implement, and drive the industrialization plan, manages industrialization for products and processes, maintains the permanent quote and recurring costs of the products, tracks non-recurring costs, and cost of industrialization at termination. Establishes the plan of increasing maturity at the required level about processes and/or means when NPI is introduced to manufacturing
     
  • During the production and operating phases: Participates in the processes of causal analysis and improvement of the product/process couple (QRQC, FFTP, FE/FFT commissions, 8D, progress work), Develops economic and budgetary elements related to medium and long-term development according to the needs, maintenance and improvement of the manufacturing process Ensures the maintenance, evolution and upgrade of the manufacturing and test means incl. test benches. Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives
     
  • During all phases responsible for all regulatory and company requirements regarding health and safety within department, working in conjunction with Human Resources and the HSE Coordinator.
  • Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally in electronics or aerospace environment
  • Good understanding of Lean/Flow Manufacturing and Process Improvement with the ability to implement
  • Experience in effectively planning and monitoring operational and equipment budgets
  • Experience in labour relations in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge of applicable Health and Safety regulations
  • Must be able to pass a background check
