The Material Handler will be responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks, and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. May also prepare kitting packages for assembly production.

The pay rate for this position starts at $15.50/hr.

Location: Drew Road & Bramalea Road

Shift timing: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3.30 pm

  • Material Handler Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of kitting and order functions
  • Participates in interplant transfers
  • Door Service (PLR); works with company inventory system
  • Transfers excess material between customers and performs cycle count activities
  • Maintains and updates policies and procedures and trains others as required
  • Picks and packs products for customer shipments
  • Puts stock away in the warehouse
  • Resolves discrepancies and recommends changes to processes to reduce future discrepancies
  • Replenishes raw material using a variety of established replenishment methods
  • Expedites shortages or potential shortages in order that manufacturing and/or customer orders can be satisfied in a timely fashion
  • Enters and verifies the accuracy of all inventory transactions and corrects errors
  • Completes the set up of new cells or assemblies to back flush
  • Safely operates material handling and processing equipment
  • Complies with company safety policies and Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instruction only on new assignments
  • Material Handler Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum of 1-2 years’ related work experience
  • Demonstrated capability in all aspects of the area
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Must be able to lift upto 50 lbs
