Responsible to support Operations with an effective inventory management/receiving/distribution function while achieving a high level of inventory accuracy through cycle count process and auditing of moves associated with warehouse operations.





  1. Manage inventory levels by applying advanced inventory control techniques; Monitor and update minimum and maximum stock levels; Maintain inventory transactions in ERP system and verify transactions and inventory levels accuracy
  2. Order tubing and components; Verify suppliers’ capacity plans meet requirements; Establish most reasonable delivery frequency; Provide feedback to supply chain on risks regarding replenishment levels and demand; Track and monitor all returnable carts/totes and arrange for repair as required
  3. Oversee the cycle count process, including for discrete packaging, to maintain accurate inventory; Work with A/P to reconcile outstanding invoices; Analyze and report cycle count results; Investigate inventory discrepancies, provide findings with recommendations and implement corrective measures
  4. Ensure FIFO accuracy and efficient distribution of materials through plant floor and for pass-thru parts; Support Operations by performing floor inventory adjustments
  5. Track incoming shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required; Initiate problem reports or contact logistics to schedule deliveries/expedites to resolve damaged good, shortages, missed deliveries and other problems
  6. Participate in new model launch and part build-out activities; Plan and coordinate introduction of new parts and phasing out of old parts to minimize obsolescence; Update Bills of Materials, routing, revision changes as needed
  7. Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices; Train associates on recording inventory transactions and overview of inventory control
  8. Lead all physical inventories and reporting
  9. Develop and execute continuous improvement plans for the control and handling of inventories; Periodically review logistics for improvements




  1. Post-secondary education in Materials/Inventory/Supply Chain Management or equivalent, or equivalent experience
  2. Minimum of 2 years Materials/Production Control experience within manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
  3. Familiarity with MRP systems required
  4. Toyota automotive supplier experience with Toyota Production System an asset
  5. Experience with implementing Kanban systems for lean manufacturing

Proficient in MS Office as well as warehouse management ERP systems

Basic knowledge of OHSA, IATF16949 and ISO 14001 requirements







  1. This position oversees the cycle count process and reconciliation reporting.  If this is ineffective, our reported inventory will not match the actual, and we may incur component shortages, unnecessary changeovers, expedite costs, inefficient production, or even mis-ships to the customer.
  2. This position ensures accurate and efficient distribution of materials to the shop floor.  If this is done poorly, we may face machine downtime, inefficient use of labor, and maybe mis-ships to the customer.
  3. This position must closely manage inventory levels during part build-out. Keep too little on hand and we run out (mis-ship, expedites, etc); keep too much on hand and we throw out excessive quantities of obsolete material.
  4. This position must maintain proper inventory transactions and verify transactions and inventory levels are accurate. If this is done ineffectively, we could run out of material without enough lead time to obtain more, incur expedite costs, poor efficiency, or even shut down customer.




  1. Primarily a warehouse & production floor setting, with some office environment
  2. Travel to Near Site facility to perform cycle counts/physical inventories as scheduled





  1. Able to travel throughout shipping/receiving dock area, warehouse/materials storage, and manufacturing areas, with periodic entry to tight spaces to get to inventory and storage.
  2. Sometimes required to get behind or under equipment to gain access to materials.
  3. Requires keyboarding and computer usage.
