Adecco is currently hiring for a permanent, Materials Team Leader to work directly for our client located in Vaughan, ON.  In this role, you will be leading the Materials Warehouse Operations team. You own the responsibility for effectively managing the material receiving, unpacking % storage processes associated with both onsite &offsite warehouse facilities.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Closely monitors & guides material inbounding processes
  • Closely liaises with Operations Control Tower & other GSC team members to maintain continuous awareness of inbound material delivery status, ensuring that material receipts are processed accurately & in a timely manner
  • Assures the effectiveness of the Pre-Staging team by ensuring material is available (both physically & electronically) to support the kitting process
  • Monitors the health of ERP data to effectively connect supply with demand so that transactions flow smoothly, making corrections or updates as required (i.e. ensuring that receipts are ‘clean’)
  • Supports the Non-Conformance (NC) process by resolving material availability issues
  • Initiates “Grief Receiving” notifications to GSC to trigger resolution to packing list/purchase order discrepancies
  • Processes “material returns” to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Optimizes the layout & usage of material storage systems
  • Liaises with GSC Buyers to resolve receiving discrepancies & prevent supplier payment issues
  • Manages the creation of inventory storage locations within the ERP system
  • Designs & implements KPIs & metrics to monitor the health of processes & the effectiveness of the team
  • Develops tools to transform incoming data streams into actionable business intelligence for the purpose of mistake-proofing & automation of team functions
  • Identifies & communicates the need for expediting
  • Develops efficient material handling practices that eliminate material movement waste
  • Provides feedback & recommendations to GSC Lane Leaders relating to shipment documentation, labelling & packaging
  • Provides direct daily supervision of team members to ensure safe, clean & efficient work environment
  • Applies sound communication & motivational techniques when supervising & coaching
    Completes & delivers team member performance reviews
  • Fosters a team environment that promotes continuous learning
  • Communicates company goals/philosophies/strategies to Team Members
  • Conducts team safety meetings & provides input to increase safety in the workplace
  • Supervises daily clean-up of production areas & maintains world-class housekeeping standards
  • Assess training needs for staff, as well as temporary workers ensuring that all department personnel are appropriately trained & that the training satisfies the company’s training requirements
  • Requirements

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Post-secondary education (College or University Degree in Engineering, Business and/or Manufacturing Systems preferred) coupled with 3 years demonstrated competency through work experience.
  • 2 - 3 years progressive experience working within an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a demonstrated ability to lead teams.
  • Strong leadership and motivation skills
  • Well-developed scheduling and organization skills
  • Good understanding/awareness of Husky injection molding machine architecture, assembly processes and component nomenclature
  • Strong working knowledge of the various ERP sessions used to manage Materials functions
  • Awareness of quality management systems
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes within Husky
  • Good computer literacy in spreadsheet and word processing applications
  • Strong problem-solving and facilitation skills
  • Mature presentation skills
  • Solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation
