Adecco is currently hiring for a Soldering Operator for an Electronics Manufacturer in Ottawa West (Kanata). These are full time opportunities, Monday to Friday, with openings on Days and Evenings. Salary to be determined based on experience, typical starting wages are $14 to $16 per hour plus shift premium.

Under close supervision, carries out assigned tasks in a highly structured, repetitive environment. A key part of this role is to learn focused tasks well, and repeat these tasks to produce a high volume of quality product in the shortest possible time, to maintain aggressive production schedules.

Soldering Operator Job Duties:

  • Soldering – IPC-7711/7721 rework, repair and modification of printed boards and electronic assemblies.
  • Soldering – J-STD-001 requirements for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies.
  • Soldering – IPC-A-610D electronic assembly acceptability.
  • Independently provides support to the Manufacturing Team Lead.
  • Identifies and articulates problems or issues for Technical Support or Manufacturing Engineering, and assists in gathering the information and proof necessary to establish the root cause and determine corrective action.
  • Recognizes discrepancies in documentation or problems with quality, product or process, and recommends changes.
  • Conducts product inspection according to specific procedures.
  • Uses a variety of current software to properly execute required computer transactions, such as SFDC, Agile, and Excel.
  • Works with Engineering to implement continuous improvement.
  • Reads, interprets and reworks according to complex ECO modifications.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and performance standards.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Mechanical Assembly.

Soldering Operator Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ factory experience, or equivalent.
  • Ability to solder complex PCBs.
  • Good written/verbal communication in English.
  • Demonstrated capability in all aspects of the area.
  • Understanding Process Documents.
  • High school education.
  • Demands: Sitting, visual acuity, manual dexterity.
  • Equipment: Computer, soldering iron, microscope, DRS machine.
  • Hazards: Solder and other chemicals, laser safety, UV.
  • 26 week college course in Electronics Assembly.
