Responsibilities:
Provides technical rework and repair for the production floor required to recertify assemblies.
May Provide feedback to relevant technical and/or support groups to ensure the reduction of defects.
Reviews and accurately interprets internal and external drawing specifications.
Provides daily support to production engineering initiatives that includes areas related to quality.
Facilitates identification of problems and work to correct the defects within the in facilities
Provides assistance to reduce cycle times and improve process flow.
May assist in developing tooling, featuring and jigs for internal requirements.
Performs complex repair and fault analysis in order to recertify units back to the original specifications.
Functions as the focal point for all product requiring mechanical related rework/repair.
Facilitates communication with internal groups to enhance quality or improve process yield.
Limited participation in component selection of non-BOM materials required for maintenance and supporting test equipment.
Is accountable for issuing timely and accurate rework scope to meet urgent customer delivery plan.
In some cases, in order to satisfy customer request for changes, may need to support urgent production changes.
Possesses extensive knowledge and skills related to soldering and rework procedures for all products, and ability to provide technical guidance to operators as well as, ability to perform tasks related to assembly (chassis/boards), modification, and design changes.
Ability to accurately interpret customer specifications.
Possesses skills to support production system technology related to manufacturing methods.
Possesses foundation skills and appropriate technical / leadership skills.
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
5-10 years of relevant bench and structural assembly experience
Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
More advanced manufacturing system knowledge.
Ability to identify problems in the assembly process and/or with assembly components and to further, address and rework such problems.
Possesses knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications and SMT processing systems.
Ability to set up, operate, and maintain shop tools used by the mechanical room.
Knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow.
Ability to manufacture / test products with best methods or procedures in situations not covered by standard processes, procedures, and methods.
Has ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in the applications appropriate to the area e.g.: MS Office, SAP, and Documentation control systems.
