Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time Mechanical System Engineer to work a 2-year contract at a global, well-established manufacturing company in Montréal, QC. In this role, you will have ownership of the engine’s key performance targets and will cascade these from overall engine targets to specific system and component requirements. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience as part of a program team working on engine design and development and holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and/or Aerospace engineering.
Location: Montréal, QC| WFH to start; move into the office when ready
Shifts: Monday to Friday | 8 hours /day

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the engine’s key performance targets such as weight, cost, durability and compliance with customer requirements
Cascade the engine’s key performance targets from overall engine targets to specific system and component requirements
Support the engineering team with design reviews
Support the procurement team with supplier(s) identification and technical communications
Support the test engineer with equipment/system troubleshooting
Requirements and Qualifications:
A degree in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering is needed
5 years of professional experience as part of a program team working on engine design and development is a must
Aerospace experience a plus
Experience in mechanical system architecture definition including internal combustion engines, turbomachines and auxiliary systems is also needed
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with PLM and ERP systems, such as SAP, Windchill, or similar is needed
Should have expertise with one or more of the following engine sub-systems:
- Turbocharging
- Lubrication and cooling systems
- Fuel injection system
- Noise cancellation (muffler)
- Intake and exhaust systems
- Electrical systems, sensors and wiring harness
Must have a global vision of automobile engine technologies and how this technology can be transferred to aerospace applications
Able to understand complex engineering problems and simplify them into comprehensible tasks
A proven expertise in the development and industrialization of complex engine systems including the capability to track and meet specific product requirements, is needed
Able to communicate with customers and key stakeholders including the preparation of detailed technical presentations for both internal and client project engineering review
Professional development in the area of leadership is needed
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
