Our client, the leading pharmaceutical retailer in Canada, is looking for a Merchandising Coordinator to take ownership and find more ways to care about our local store owners in a career at Central Office / Store Support. As the ideal Merchandising Coordinator, your job is to provide great service, specific expertise and actionable advice to support Associates/Owners and their staff in delivering the best health, beauty and convenience services to Canadians. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates the development and implementation of national seasonal merchandising programs for stores to meet business needs and increase potential sales revenues.
  • Coordinates merchandising programs from purchase and developing sales targets to communicating the merchandising plan to stores to ensure the process is planned and executed within seasonal timelines.
  • Performs sales analysis, develops parameters for target setting and writes communications standards and criteria for store merchandising to ensure programs are developed and communicated to increase overall effectiveness.
  • Compiles data, prepares reports, develops presentations and coordinates with other departments to verify data to prepare and run ad hoc sales analysis and reports and ensure current and relevant information is available for review.
  • Creates communications on merchandising direction for front store, cosmetics and new projects or events.
  • Coordinate special projects with other teams within the business (such as Category Mgmt, Operations or Marketing) to ensure seamless roll-out to stores.
  • Liaises with appropriate stakeholders to create clear goals and direction for implementation at store level.
  • Reviews and updates merchandising standards, based on feedback and changes in direction to write national merchandising standards, and provide merchandising direction for seasonal events, tests, new items or special promotions.

  • REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Demonstrated level of initiative and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects.
  • Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in every day working relationships.
  • Understanding of inter-related work processes to be able to adapt to differing assignments.
  • Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with clients and associates including senior management.
  • Draws on a number of known options to solve problems and to develop improvements.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.  Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
  • Computer skills to produce and interpret spreadsheets, report, documents and presentations.
  • Understanding of merchandising concepts and ability to compile and analyze sales and other statistical data.
  • Communicates with clarity, verbally and in one on one or group situations, or over the telephone.
  • Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents; facility with editing and/or proof-reading is required
  • Post-secondary courses in administration, marketing, merchandising or equivalent.
  • Greater than one-year administration, marketing or equivalent experience.

  • COMPENSATION & HOURS:

  • $23.63 per hour
  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
