Microelectronics Assembly Operator

Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary full time 6-month contract for a Microelectronics Assembly Operator in Newmarket, ON. To be considered for this Microelectronics Assembly Operator role, you must Mechanical experience, experience with operating computer-controlled robotics machines and ability to work in a manufacturing lab environment. Our client is in a Clean, open, and bright state of the artwork environment, Possibility of contract extension and Rigorous health screening process to ensure the safety of all associate.

Pay rate is $22 to $27 depending on experience.

Main intersection is: Harry Walker Pkwy and Davis Dr.

Shift: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Monday to Friday)

 

Microelectronics Assembly Operator Responsibilities:

 

  • The Microelectronics Lab (MEL) Operator will enjoy a stimulating and challenging work environment with opportunities to develop new skills while working in a highly motivated team. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a manufacturing environment. We are looking for a team player who is able to learn quickly, is self-motivated, has good analytical and communication abilities and is comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment while fully suited up in clean room attire. The candidate will be part of the Microelectronics Lab team.
  • Incumbents have some latitude in determining the best methods and procedures to follow to complete assignments. Tasks are broad and complex in nature where considerable independent judgment and discretion are required. Strong initiative is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions/actions will have an impact on the department's quality and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Assignments are received in the form of results expected. Possesses broad knowledge of operations and policies. May provide functional guidance to others performing similar work and/or provide project or task leadership. May be considered the expert in specific areas assigned. Builds strong internal and external relationships that require exchanging information and providing explanations in a problem-solving capacity. Interfaces regularly with persons of higher positions.
  • Position involves working with product specifications, schematics and mechanical drawings; operator assembles, inspects, tests, debugs, repairs and/or modifies microelectronics products.  
  • Good problem identification and troubleshooting skills required.  Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for fine manual assembly, optical microscope inspection and test assembly. Ability to effectively communicate effectively with a variety of internal customers. Duties of the position require physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions, sitting in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, optical microscope inspection, hand soldering, and moving and handling materials.  
  • Microelectronics Assembly Operator Qualifications:

     

  • Microelectronics Assembly Operator Preferred education is college or university in mechanical field
  • Experience with operating computer controlled robotic machines such as wire bonder, die bonder and glue dispensers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing lab environment
  • Hand soldering experience is also preferred
  • Good fine motor hand-eye coordination, dexterous, detail-oriented  
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to evaluate and examine very small defects using optical microscopes for an extended period of time
  • Excellent eyesight required, experience with optical microscopes required
  • Time management and ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines
  • Strong general computer skills required
