Adecco is currently recruiting for a Millwright with our client located in Vankleek Hill, ON. This is a full-time permanent role on-site.
30% traveling
The Millwright will have the following responsibilities
To assist in the erecting and assembling of standard Automated Cutting Systems
Performs all task under limited supervision
Leads and organizes project and repair work
Assumes ownership of work task and demonstrates initiative to get work completed
Assumes high-level ownership related to work prioritization, production needs, and safety requirements.
Troubleshoot, inspect, adjust, and repair automated machines, process systems, and robotic systems to ensure they are working properly and safely
Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
Performs preventative and unscheduled maintenance.
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, etc.
Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Adjusts, cleans and lubricates parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
Perform adjustments on various forms of process equipment.
Assists in configuring, commissioning, and testing new equipment while making sure all maintenance and installations are well documented, working properly, and operating safely.
Document repairs for regulatory purposes.
Perform bench work in repairing and maintaining production equipment and spare part assemblies.
Oversee maintenance contract and service work as assigned.
Order and maintain spare parts.
Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed.
Perform onsite mechanical installation on automation projects sold within North America
Fabricate and rework parts required for the projects and prototyping.
Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Production Manager, Group Leaders, and fellow tradesmen to accomplish the desired result.
Effectively participate in the company Global Performance Management Program.
Ensure the correct use and maintenance of tools, equipment and supplies.
Continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implanting continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
Fully abide and actively support organization Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of nature resources and the Health & Safety of all employees.
Conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Production Manager in a timely and professional manner.
Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager
The Millwright must meet the following mandatory requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Millwright with Mechanical and Automation background
Must have successfully completed an Apprentice Program, an Associate degree or Certificate in a mechanical technology
Must pass the skilled trade assessment test for this position
Crane experience is mandatory
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have an advanced knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting including power transmission, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Must have an advanced ability to diagnose the root cause of a problem, make repairs, and test for proper operation.
Must have an advanced level of knowledge and experience reading mechanical drawings and service manuals.
Must possess an advanced mechanical aptitude and the ability to work on close tolerance equipment and/or parts.
Ability to use various measuring devices (torque wrench, micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators etc.)
Ability to fabricate, weld, or machine parts will be required.
Excellent attendance required.
Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
Must be able to use cranes, lifting straps, rigs, forklifts etc., to safely position and fasten equipment
Experience using PLC’s is an asset
Experience of MIG and Stick welding
Able to use both hand and power tools
Work independently and in team environments in achieving tasks
Must be able to travel throughout U.S. and Canada
Travel would be a combined, not necessarily all at once (8-10 weeks of the year)
