Operations Assistant

Adecco is currently hiring for a full-time Operations Assistant in Surrey, BC to work on a temporary basis with possibility of becoming permanent. Our client is a leading packaging-solutions provider in Canada that offers growth opportunities and a friendly environment. To qualify for this job, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry, possess excellent communication skills and have strong knowledge in Microsoft applications.

  • Pay Rate: $22-$23/Hour
  • Location: Surrey, BC
  • Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (30 min lunch)
  • Employment Type: Full-time | Temp to perm
  • Responsibilities:

  • Complete monthly safety inspections and participate in monthly JHSC meetings
  • Enter monthly safety training for all employees in Workday
  • Conduct new employee orientation and safety training
  • Ensure that production team are following quality system requirements by process and working safely and efficiently.
  • Organize rework paperwork and process flow and summarizing data for CRM input
  • Assist in collecting information on quality issues in order to help with follow-up
  • Assist with labour planning/assignment and schedule employees for each production shifts and contact EE’s as required.
  • Assist with monthly employee safety training (LMS)
  • Be the plant liaison with Regional HR to implement or communicate any HR initiatives.
  • Greet visitors and contractors ensuring they follow Altium guidelines when entering the facility
  • Arrange for courier pickups and deliveries
  • Assist with office supplies
  • Issue MRO PO’s for Maintenance
  • Scan BOL and email customers and update monthly tracking report
  • Enter CHEP pallet activity in CHEP database and customer report.
  • Create vinegar labels for shipments
  • Assist in entering shipping release orders and creating customs paperwork for international shipments
  • Process Reinhart EDI orders and update lots and customer report.
  • Participate in daily safety walks to observe cleanliness of the production and quality areas to ensure they remain as clean and safe workplaces at all times.
  • Participate in 6S implementation in the plant
  • Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration with 3 to 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Flexible and self-motivated with strong organizational, detail-oriented, multitasking, and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously, as required
  • Coachable; Professional; Flexible schedule; Approachable; Quick learner; and Self-motivated.
  • Good working knowledge and ability to navigate a PC windows environment, including shared drives.
  • Strong skills and experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and willingness to continuously develop technology skills.
  • Demonstrates good and safe work habits and have a clean working environment.
