Operations Manager

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000

We are currently hiring for an Operations manager based in Delta for one of the world’s largest suppliers of pipe, valves, fittings, engineered products and automation to the marine and oil and gas industries. The position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the branch and providing financial and operational support to various branches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage operations in order to meet net profit performance against annual budget developed with corporate administration.
  • Responsible for all hiring, training, retention and performance evaluations of all operational staff (around 15 staff are direct reports)
  • Perform administrative functions of branch.
  • Identifying customer needs, providing solutions and recommending better products.
  • Maintain relationship with key customer accounts through regular visits, look for new markets to penetrate, and Growing profitable market share by presenting value-added services & add-ons.
  • Analyzing price and delivery dates, locating products, creating purchase orders, and providing a high level of service to all customers.
  • Growing profitable market share by presenting value-added services & add-ons.
  • Promote excellent customer service from the entire branch.
  • Ensure safe practices and environment in branch and adherence to all policies by staff.
  • Manage inventory and conduct successful physical inventory annually.
  • Support corporate initiatives and programs and develop community/industry involvement programs.
  • Develop intra-branch and departmental communications/coordination
  • Maintain buildings, grounds, equipment and vehicles in accordance with company standards.

  • Understands specialty equipment, keeps knowledge up-to-date, is a technical resource for others, follows technology practices and standards.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • The work environment characteristics are described as face paced. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced work environment with a moderate noise level.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Also required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms in order to do the job role successfully
  • Qualifications & Education:

  • BSc degree or equivalent work experience in management or sales.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
