Adecco is currently recruiting for a full time permanent Operations Manager - Manufacturing in Edmonton, AB. Our client is a well established, global oil and gas manufacturer who distributes their product worldwide.  The Operations Manager - Manufacturing must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar role in an industrial manufacturing setting. This position will also require the candidate to have advanced computer skills, the proven ability to mentor and coach a team and possess direct related experience up to P&L responsibility.  You will able be available to travel to other branches across Canada as well as the US for training.

Operation Manager - Manufacturing Responsibilities:

  • Operations oversight of all production departments including; chemical tanks, inspection, shipping and receiving and general warehousing.
  • Partner with service and sales team to support changing needs of the customer and business
  • Establish & execute operational priorities and objectives for improved inventory turns and accuracy
  • Ensures that operations key productivity indicators are measured and the results communicated through the facility.
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures and manpower.  This will include controlling capital expenditures, minimizing labor overtime, freight, supplies and repair expenses.
  • Establish & execute production processes to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives - establish countermeasures if the goals are not met.
  • Lead shop-floor Lean Manufacturing implementation and process improvement activities
  • Implement and maintain shop floor process flow and organization
  • Develop a team of highly capable employees and ensure continuous improvement of the team through coaching and counseling.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all applicable Safety and Environmental rules and regulations are strictly followed
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing the operations and a team
  • LEAN manufacturing – (must have practical experience)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in machine and/or process based operations
  • Demonstrated planning skills balanced with excellent execution
  • Project management experience
  • Experience creating and documenting systems and procedures
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high computer literacy
  • Naturally inquisitive/wants to learn about and understand new things
  • Excellent people leader capable of coaching/mentoring others
  • Solid communicator at all levels of the organization
