Operations Specialist II

Adecco is currently looking to hire an Operations Specialist II (Avid Infrastructure, Release Coordinator) located in Toronto, ON. Our client is an award winning, multinational corporation that specializes in Internet-related services and products. This is a 1-year contract position and has a pay rate range of $27.35 per hour. This position is remote to start, must be flexible to return to office when it reopens.

To be considered for this role you must have prior experience in release operations and reasoning/debugging software and system issues (3 - 5 years of experience required). Computer Science education is also required (diploma or degree).

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and executing on operational release activities.
  • Planning and controlling the movement of Releases from environment to environment.
  • Coordinating with various teams to diagnose and resolve issues with releases.
  • Should have strong QA experience to understand the SDLC and triage bugs.
  • Managing deadlines and coordinating the status to the key stakeholder to address blockers and interrupts.
  • Collaborating on improvements to the processes, including adjusting bounds on tests, silencing or addressing noisy tests, and piloting new validation tools and systems.
  • Monitoring release-qualifying tests and triage breakages. Rollback changes or apply silences to breaking tests as appropriate.
  • Adding new rule-based release checks.
  • Building knowledge in release and test tooling to be able to independently mitigate common issues.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Professional proficiency in reading, speaking and writing English.
    2. Prior experience in release operations and reasoning/debugging software and system issues.
    3. Good understanding of technical commands, scripts.
    4. Solid understanding of the key components of exhaustive bug reports and triage process.
    5. Willingness to learn on the job.
    6. Prior working experience with Google teams.
    7. Basic knowledge of statistics.
