Adecco is currently hiring for an Assembler/Rigger of parachutes for a company in Ottawa West (Stittsville).  This opportunity is offering Full Time hours, Monday to Friday day shift. This is a contract to start with potential to go perm based on performance and business needs. We are offering a pay rate of $18 per hour. The anticipated start date is November 12th.

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative aerial cargo delivery systems. They have a track record of successfully commercializing mission critical cargo delivery and its products have been deployed in military, humanitarian aid and commercial clients in across the globe.

Assembler/Rigger Duties/Requirements:

- Unpack, examine, assemble, and pack cargo parachutes.

- Follow standard procedures in performing basic packing tasks such as visually examining/inspecting the fabric and all equipment of the parachutes for serviceability, stowing canopy and suspension lines, installing reefing lines and cutters, and folding and packing various complex parachute assemblies.

- Must be able to read and understand diagrams and instructions from technical manuals and manufacturer’s instructions.

- Performs technical, routine and in-storage rigger-type inspection on cargo parachutes as well as other airdrop equipment before, during and/or after each use. Performs general support maintenance on all parachutes, textile components and other air drop equipment.

- Examine, inspect, adjust, and align mechanical components to rigid specifications, and assemble and link numerous subsystems, requiring a knowledge of how those assemblies inter-join, and the ability to perform numerous precision procedures.

- Examine/inspect, test and install extraction and release systems. Uses and maintains machines and tools for fabrication, modification and repair of parachutes, and other airdrop equipment.

- Have a basic understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to apply that knowledge in assembling, testing, and connecting those components properly.

- Strong ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English, including the ability to describe information, concepts and ideas and to convey instructions to others.

-  Ability to independently manage, organize, and complete work activities in order to meet or exceed established deadlines/priorities.

- Work is performed in a mixed office/prototyping environment.

- Travel may be required to other facilities, subcontractors or suppliers.

Assembler/Rigger Desirable Qualifications:

- FAA Rigger Certification.

- Knowledge of parachute testing and non-standard rigging.

Candidates must be eligible for a Controlled Goods and Secret Security Clearance, both require 10 years in Canada with a clean criminal record.
