Full-time Permanent Payroll Accountant

Adecco Professional is looking for a professional Payroll Accountant in Richmond Hill, ON. Our client is seeking for a Payroll Accountant to join their office and dynamic team. If you are looking for progressive growth in your accounting career, look no further. You will experience all facets of Payroll and general hands on Accounting functions. This position reports in to Finance and will be involved with the HR department.

Responsibilities for the Payroll Accountant includes:

Prepare and process weekly payroll for 100+ union and non-unionized employees across the organization
Manage and administer the company's benefit program
Process all paperwork for staffing changes
Ensure electronically filed ROEs are processed within acceptable time frame
Process annual T4s
General reports and make recommendations to senior members
Prepare journal entries and preform month end closing duties
Keep up to date and provide guidance to the organization on all legislated updates and changes.


Qualification for the Payroll Accountant includes:

3-5 years work experience in Payroll and Accounting, preferably in a unionized setting is an asset
Pursuing CPA or Payroll designation or working toward is an asset
Proficient in ADP Workforce Now and Excel
Must possess excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
