Adecco is currently hiring for Payroll Clerk. This role draws upon advanced payroll, systems and data analysis knowledge to respond to internal customers, while providing timely delivery of administration of senior payroll processes and reporting with confidentiality and discretion. To qualify for this position, you must have a minimum of three (3) years related payroll and/or accounting experience, Canadian Payroll Association designation and/or a diploma or degree in Administration, Commerce or Human Resources.

Payroll Administrator Responsibilities:

  •  Ensures the corporate payroll function is being processed accurately, timely and is compliant with appropriate legislation, internal policy and CBA at all times.
  • Proactively conducts troubleshooting and needs analysis based on organizational and payroll related issues and provides thorough solutions and advice to respond to the client.
  • Resolves complex, confidential payroll related issues; consults and involves the HR Business Partner on any required follow up and communications.
  • Responsible for data within the payroll system, including ensuring all calculations are accurate and timely prepared.
  • Updates and maintains employee and personal information on HRMS and is responsible to coordinate the validation process.
  • Identifies and develops recommendations for process and system changes. Develops test plans and conducts thorough system and process testing ensuring that processes and information are providing the required results.
  • Provides on-going support to the employees, including the provision of system demonstrations, advice, training and technical support.
  • Analyzes system discrepancies to determine the problem sources and escalates to the appropriate teams (within HR or IT) in an efficiently and timely manner.
  • Assists in the development of system administrative processes, procedures and policies. Develops and maintains all procedures and documentation related to Payroll Services.
  • Working towards learning business reporting and analysis related to Human Resource Services and Payroll practices such as time administration, FTE, and payroll compliance.
  • Provide ad hoc financial reporting related to the payroll function.
  • Evaluates, adapts and develops schedules, deadlines, requests and work/project timelines as required.
  • Respond to internal and external payroll inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Review and audit calculations for manual cheques prior to submission to management for approval.
  • Responds to payroll inquiries in a timely, accurate and customer focus oriented manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring T4s are prepared accurately and timely in accordance with CRA guidelines.
  • Participates and supports the Payroll Manager through payroll year-end.
  • Administers and participates in all required senior payroll functions, including account reconciliations, general ledger updates and year end documentation.
  • Work in partnership with all areas of HR to achieve corporate goals and objectives as it relates of the payroll function and HR operating model.
  • Responsible for providing a high level of customer service to all employees and internal stakeholders
  • Administers a wide range of corporate programs including the Employee Incentive/Recognition Awards Program, salary grids, service increments and position control. This includes calculation, tracking and development and distribution of related reports.
  • Participates in corporate HR projects and leads Payroll Services projects as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
