Adecco is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Payroll & Benefits Associate to join our client's team in Toronto, ON. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in day-to-day HR operations, specifically focusing on payroll, benefits, vehicle programs, and HR metrics/reporting. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for employees, vendors, and organization affiliates, ensuring smooth program administration, issue resolution, and adherence to established policies and guidelines.


Position Overview:
As a Payroll & Benefits Associate, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of HR operations, including payroll and benefits administration, HR metrics/reporting, vehicle program oversight, and HR policy development. You will serve as a central resource for employees, vendors, and affiliates, handling inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.


Key Responsibilities:


Payroll/Benefits:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and requests related to payroll, benefits, and health spending accounts.

  • Collect, analyze, update, and reconcile payroll and timekeeping data on a bi-weekly/monthly basis.

  • Review timesheets, calculate and record salary items, and make adjustments as needed to maintain payroll accuracy.

  • Review, reconcile, and balance payroll and general ledger data for bi-weekly and monthly payrolls.

  • Process benefit plan enrollments and changes, reconcile premium billing statements, and calculate and collect employee premiums during leaves.

  • Collaborate with vendors to investigate and resolve discrepancies and process corrections.

  • Provide research and compile payroll-related items and inquiries as needed for tax agencies, employee requests, and financial or audit requests.

  • Support expatriate payroll, benefits, and immigration activities as required.

HR Metrics/Reporting:

  • Maintain and enhance a variety of HR metrics/reports, including those with complex compilation requirements, to support performance tracking.

  • Deliver high-quality, timely, and accurate regular and ad hoc HR data reporting and analytics, both internally and externally.

Vehicle Programs:

  • Manage vehicle program administration, including the Company Vehicle Program and Employee Demo Program.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, explaining program details, collecting forms, distributing materials, and addressing questions.

  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets and pricing lists related to the programs.

  • Coordinate with organization affiliates and vendors to administer the programs, including driver record checks, vehicle orders, returns, lease agreements, toll transponders, invoices, and damage repairs.

HR Policies and Procedures:

  • Draft and update HR policies and procedures periodically and on an ad-hoc basis to align with current working environments and internal HR practices.

Additional Duties:
Perform any other duties as assigned by the team.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Operations Specialist.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree considered a plus.

  • Certification in Payroll (CPP) is an asset.

  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and general office functions.

  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality of information and records.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets.
