Adecco Engineering & Technical Recruitment is currently searching for a Plant Manager for our client, a leader in their manufacturing sector, to join their management team and bring a collaborative leadership approach to their manufacturing facility in Southwestern Ontario.  This position will drive operations by overseeing the project planning, production control, assembly, quality, and engineering and maintenance departments.  Within this role, the Plant Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving efficient process and production operations through the identification and elimination of waste.  Promotion of core values related to safety, quality, leadership and motivation as well as cost control are essential elements of the role.  This position is also the succession position for the SVP, Plant Operations role.  You will be joining an excellent organisation, with an impressive leadership team that has vision, as well as a full compensation and benefits package.  If you are a senior leader in manufacturing, and would like to know more about this opportunity, let’s get in touch!


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – Plant Manager

- 10+ years of experience working in a senior plant or operations management role in automotive manufacturing facilities
- Post-secondary degree or diploma (Business Management or Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Strong ability to present a collaborative, team-oriented leadership profile to all members of the organisation
- Experience in a hands-on operational role supporting multiple departments including engineering. 
- Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing
- Independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
- Ability to lead a team and provide coaching
- Ability to communicate and present effectively from the board room to the shop floor
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience managing both salary and hourly employees in a plant environment 


RESPONSIBILITIES – Plant Manager

- Responsible for creating business plan budget (capital and expense) and follow up action plan to achieve target for all plant operations.
- Actively participate in and support the creation and implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
- Achieve business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards are maintained. 
- Improve production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining/improving current quality standards.
- Implement strategies in alignment with greater strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Maintain and enhance motivation toward the successful implementation of the strategic plan and achievement of targets.
- Oversee internal re-alignment and organizational structures. 
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions as necessary.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Responsible for reporting operations activities, successes and challenges to the Senior Management team at monthly management meetings, or periodically as needed. 
- Provide stability guidance, leadership and support to all department leaders as needed. 
- Provide expert level advice to assist with attaining plant production goals and support the leaders of each respective department manager.
- Set clear goals for the departments and teams you oversee.
- Propose plans which minimize costs or improve processes. 
- Actively participate in key projects and ensure continued progression.
- Ensure compliance of plant policies and procedures with applicable regulations and requirements.
- Support the 5S and safety culture in the plant.
