Adecco is currently hiring for a full time, permanent role as a Plant Operator in the asphalt industry, located in Guelph, ON. To qualify for this role, you must have experience in the operation and start-up of hot mix asphalt mixing plants – this is a process driven role that will require you to oversee plant operation, along with quality control. You will liaise with road crews daily, and have a strong focus for quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational capabilities, and you must be able to operate under real-time pressure. From operating machinery, to managing and prioritizing tasks, you will be one of the key decision makers within the plant. A base hourly of $28 per hour is commensurate with experience.

Apart from the summary above, additional responsibilities include:
- Constant physical effort: standing, lifting (50-90 pounds), and maintain a constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the plant site
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed accordingly, by both team members and onsite contractors
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, along with a comfortability to work on construction sites involving form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete

Qualifications for the role include:
- A minimum GED or high school diploma
- Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
- Minimum 3-5 years of industry related experience is required, with an emphasis on asphalt plant operations
- Exposure to working with heavy machinery/mobile equipment is preferred
- Experience with electrical or welding procedures and components is considered a plus
